SEEN IN MY OWN BACKYARD... There's nothing quite so beautiful As a brillant red Cardinal, And his brown colored mate As they prepare to create. There sits the well-marked Bluejay As he sings through the long day, And with his head bobbin, Is a magnificent Robin. The small hovering Hummingbird, Is often seen and heard; You might see one or a dozen, Depending on the season. The large black Crow Sits in the garden row, As the Woodpecker does peck Upon my wooden deck. Who better speaks of love, Than the Turtle Dove; All of these have starred, In my backyard. |
