The Ocean of Life
On the seashore we stand, Out on a strip of land,
Against the waves we brace. The lighthouse stands so tall.
The riptide pulling on our legs, With its powerfull beam of light,
The wind in our face. It is a beacon to all.
The water foams and swirls, We see sails in the distance,
The mist floats on the breeze. A foghorn we faintly hear.
The sun peeks from the clouds, A fish jumps for the sky,
We shiver but do not freeze. We watch and shed a tear.
The crabs on the beach As we walk hand in hand,
Scurry to and fro. The shadows slowly grow long.
The squaking seagulls We breath in the beauty,
Swoop and dive so low. In our hearts, a song.
The children jump and play, The sun drops into the sea,
As through the surf they run. The sky fades and darkens.
They shout and yell with glee, We hastily retreat for the night,
They are having so much fun. Knowing the ocean ever harkens.
